You Glow Girl: Meet Florist & Folk Musician Sophia Eliana

Say “Hey” to Sophia Eliana (she/her), a Denver-based creative powerhouse who wears many hats—florist, touring folk musician, and dance instructor. Originally hailing from the serene coasts of Monterey, California, Sophia’s journey in floral design took root in the fertile fields of Downeast Maine at Salt Farm Flowers, a sustainable specialty cut flower farm.

Nowadays, when Sophia Eliana is away from her floral bench at Petals & Pages Denver, you can find her leading “Bookstore Burlesque” or singing ethereal melodies on farms with baby sheep (really!). Cultivating creative communities of patience, empowerment, and inclusivity is integral to her teaching philosophy.

We’re beyond thrilled to team up with Sophia Eliana for Shrooms & Blooms II, happening Sept. 8, 2024, in Aurora, Colorado. This edition of our Backyard Botanicals Workshop.Series will feature Sophia Eliana’s expert instruction on how to make a dreamy flower crown for fall. Join us for a morning of being treated like the queen you are at Shrooms & Blooms II: The Brunch Edit. Grab your ticket by Sept. 5th to secure your spot!

In the meantime, let’s get to know Sophia Eliana a little better!

You’re a creative female entrepreneur who’s successfully forging her own path ahead. Can you share one lesson you learned the hard way that might help others who are trying to follow their passions? Never second guess your gut feeling! As a female musician in a predominantly male industry, I’ve often had my capabilities as an artist underestimated. But at the end of the day, no one knows you better than you know yourself. I wish I had learned sooner about the power of letting negative comments roll off my shoulders. Nothing fuels me more than proving a misogynist comment wrong.
