Somewhere along the way, Sundays turned into performance prep: grocery runs, inbox clean-outs, sock pairings, and guilt-fueled attempts to become a “better version” of ourselves by Monday morning. But what if your Sunday didn’t need a to-do list makeover—just a mindset one?
At Hey, Joni., we’re reclaiming the Sunday reset as a ritual—not a punishment. A way to realign with your needs, your space, your body, and your life without falling into hustle energy. Here’s how.
1. Start with how you want to feel
Instead of asking what do I need to get done?, try asking:
“How do I want to feel when I wake up Monday morning?”
Maybe it’s calm. Maybe it’s clear. Maybe it’s like you actually had a weekend.
Let that guide your choices—not your planner.
2. Anchor your day with one small ritual
A Sunday reset doesn’t need 12 steps. It needs one good anchor.
A few ideas:
- A barefoot walk in your backyard or on a nearby trail
- A bath with magnesium and eucalyptus oil (and no scrolling)
- A playlist and a deep-clean of just one surface
- A mug of tea and 15 minutes to journal, pull cards, or breathe
Simple. Repeatable. Yours.
3. Reset your space, gently
Think less “deep clean” and more “clear a little energetic clutter.”
Try:
- Changing your sheets—it’s more powerful than it sounds
- Wiping down the surfaces you touch the most
- Lighting a candle or incense in the room you avoid
- Putting your water bottle, vitamins, or microdosing journal where you’ll actually see them tomorrow
Your space is a mirror. What can you reflect back to yourself this week?
4. Nourish now, thank yourself later
Prepping an entire week of meals? Optional.
Having one thing ready for your Monday body? Sacred.
Try:
- A batch of golden broth or adaptogenic miso soup
- A breakfast that feels like care—overnight oats, chia pudding, herbal tea and protein
- A treat that’s just for you—not to earn, just to enjoy
Don’t forget your nervous system
Before you check your calendar or pick your outfits, check in with your nervous system.
Tools for Sunday evening:
- Legs up the wall for five to ten minutes
- A simple EFT tapping or breathwork sequence
- A “nothing hour” (no input, no talking, no goals)
- Saying no to that one thing you really don’t want to do
You’re allowed to choose ease.
Make your own rhythm
The goal isn’t to finish Sunday feeling like a new woman.
The goal is to feel like yourself—more resourced, more grounded, and a little less tangled up in everyone else’s idea of what “productive” looks like.
Here’s to reclaiming Sunday as sacred space—for softness, for steadiness, and for the slow return to yourself.
