In this edition of “You Glow Girl,” we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on Sheena Rude—a dynamic architect and designer, hard-working entrepreneur, and a devoted mom to two zestful boys, Boen (5) and Logan (2). She founded SEAMS Design Studio with a mission of creating intentional spaces for living and celebrating, and if you’ve attended any Hey, Joni. events this year, you’ve seen the beauty & whimsy of her designs on full display. Read on to learn more about this creative force we’re lucky to make magic with.
Early Life and Passion for Design
Sheena Rude was born in Olongapo, Philippines, and moved to the United States at a young age. Her love for art and design became evident early on, and by the age of 11, she had already knew she wanted to be an architect. This passion led her to earn a Bachelor of Design Degree in Architecture from the University of Florida and a Master of Architecture from UCLA. With over a decade of professional experience, Sheena has worked on a diverse range of projects, including an MLS stadium, an outdoor amphitheater, commercial offices, and multifamily housing.
A Life of Adventure and Family
Having lived and worked in various places around the world, including Italy, Boston, and Los Angeles, Sheena has called Denver home for the past seven years. She resides there with her incredible partner and fellow UCLA alum, Adam Rude of Sar+. Together, they have two beautfiul boys, Boen and Logan, and their adventurous dog, Mowgli. As a family, they love exploring the outdoors, traveling, dancing, and riding their bikes.
Founding SEAMS Design Studio
With a desire to redefine her role and blend her love for art, design, and architecture, Sheena founded SEAMS Design Studio. Her firm is dedicated to creating intentional, beautiful spaces for celebrating and living. SEAMS Design Studio is a testament to Sheena’s vision of making artful and meaningful design accessible and impactful.
